  1. After doing a search and replace, characters no longer visible in Notepad

The subject line says it all. After doing a search and replace in Notepad, this was all that remains visible:The starts of the lines go missing. There is no way to make them visible again. I can go to the end of a line and hit the right cursor button, but the start of the line remains invisible. Notepad doesn’t scroll horizontally. Is there a setting one can alter so that the starts of lines in Notepad are visible again?

    :)

  2. Notepad replace character with linefeed

No, no access to special characters for Search & Replace in Notepad.

You need a more powerful Editor/Word Processor or you could use PowerShell.

  3. Windows 10 Character Map and Notepad

Well I found the answer to my question. I should have thought through this a little longer.

Notepad is native in ANSI mode.
However Wordpad can work in UTF-8 mode.
I found steps to make Notepad usable in UTF-8 mode but there are a lot of steps and once again there has to be a registry hack to make it work.
Now how do I make Workpad be listed in the most used application through the Start Menu?
