Windows 10: After i cleaned my ssd i tried to download win 10 with rufus but cant

I cleaned my ssd and deleted everything after that i made a bootable usb drive with rufus but when i open my pc its just a black screen i cant go into bios menu.When i start my pc my keyboard and mouse get power but my monitor powers of after 5 seconds.

Do i need to downgrade my main hard drive (new ssd-win 7)


Upgrading from Win7 to Win 10 will carry over all the remnants and won't be as clean as fresh install. You can do fresh install.

1. Download the Windows 10 ISO: Windows 10 Download
2. Use Rufus - Create a bootable installation USB
3. Temporarily disconnect the HD(s). With only the SSD connected. Perform a fresh install. When prompted for PID, click skip this step or I don't have the PID key
4. Once done. Windows should be activated.

Make sure you delete all partitions listed in the Custom (Advance) window.

Select the unallocated partition, click New, this will split it in two, select the primary partition. Click Next to begin setup. Learn more:

If the problem persist, I recommend you redownload the ISO file and create a bootable copy using Rufus:

If the problem persist, there might be an issue with the SSD itself. If you have a working spare you could try to isolate the problem, it would help isolate the issue.

 

Win 10 clean install question

This is what I would do:

• Shrink the hard drive partition until it's small enough to fit on the SSD.
• Clone the Windows 8.1 setup to the SSD.
• Boot off the SSD and make sure that Windows 8.1 is happy (i.e., no complaints about activation).
• Upgrade to Windows 10 on the SSD.

This way, you know that Windows 8.1 has a valid setup on the SSD before doing anything else. Plus, the Windows 10 upgrade will be processed much faster on the SSD. Finally, you still have the hard drive setup to fall back to if anything goes wrong.
