Windows 10: After I close my laptop and pull the lid down, if I lift it immediately or whenever, it...

Hi so I recently bought a new laptop and I installed Windows 11 on my PC. And I have this problem I don't know how to solve, so when I turn off my laptop and pull the lid down, as soon as I lift it, it turns on automatically, without pressing the power button. It wouldn't be a problem if the battery didn't drain, but it does, and I don't know how to fix it, please help :>

Unable to disable automatic power on when laptop lid is lifted

I recently got a new laptop [Samsung]. It comes with the Windows 10 system. Everything seems to be working, but whenever I shut down the computer then close the lid, next time I lift the lid, the computer powers on automatically.



I have read that this is because the Windows 10 shut down option doesn’t actually shut the computer down, and I have tried the few suggestions I have seen for changing this.



1. I turned off “Fast Startup”

2. I disabled hibernation.



However, it is still happening! It is driving me crazy because I don’t want my computer to turn on just because I lift the lid. It is highly inconvenient.



I have been doing almost nothing but researching this problem ever since I got the laptop. It is driving me nuts. If anyone has an answer, please help!

 

Behavior when closing lid

I have long configured my laptop to stay on when I close the lid with it plugged in and to shut down when I close the lid with the plugged pulled. I do this for several reasons but the main reason I prefer this set up is because I can close the lid of my lap top, pull the plug and take it to where ever I want easily with the lid closed and the laptop stays powered on.

But this behavior no longer works this way. When I close the lid and pull the plug, the laptop powers down, it stayed on before.

So to clear up what I mean, see below

Settings:

When I close the lid - On battery, shut down; Plugged in, Do nothing

Previous behavior:

Plugged in, close lid, laptop still on, pull plug, laptop remains on

Current behavior

Plugged in, close lid, laptop still on, pull plug, laptop shuts down.

 

Laptop does not wake from sleep using mouse and keyboard when the lid is close, but can wake when the lid is open.

Hi, so followed all of the instructions and these are my experiences:

• I tried to close the lid and do what you've said like pointing the cursor to recycle bin and it works, after i did the folder was open. However, this is because when I close the lid my laptop still not in sleep mode. So i waited for it to sleep and see the light blinking then i tried clicking and there was no response.
  
• Then, I tried the clean boot. Step by step as per instructions but nothing works. Still experiencing the same problem. I'm really wondering why, now i connected the hdmi cable and working with the monitor "Second Screen Only". The laptop lid is open and everything is working properly, I close the lid and still working fine. I tried to put it asleep but the mouse or keyboard can't wake the screen. Then I tried the same set up, second screen only, then put it asleep while the lid is open. Touch the mouse and my laptop was wake immediately.
