Windows 10: After I disable external monitor of my laptop, 10s and display settings reverted.

Regular setting is external monitor on and my laptop built-in monitor off. When I leave the room, I don't want the computer off and it has to has a low solution 1280*800 built-in monitor on to enable connection of steamdeck.I want to disable external monitor and keep my laptop built-in monitor on only. I can plug out the HDMI cable.But I don't want to plug out the HDMI cable. And use Win+P, select only computer monitor on.There seems exists a bug, after I disable external monitor of my laptop, 10s and display settings reverted.

I understand that you are facing issues with the display scaling on your external displays. We will certainly look into this for you.

As you are using Vizio TV, you may have to try using custom resolution settings if the in-built settings do not provide the required settings.

For better clarity, please let us know:

• What is the version of Windows 10 that is currently installed on your computer? You can click on Search and type
  winver.
• Are you aware of any recent changes to the system, such as updates, after which you are facing this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check the steps mentioned in the Workaround section in

Windows scaling issues for high-DPI devices

I would also suggest you to check the Display drivers. Please refer

No display on laptop's external monitor-Monitor recognized but blank

After the recent Windows 10 update, my wife's laptop no longer displays on the external monitor. All was well before the update.

I am comfortable that Windows sees the monitor because clicking on Display Settings shows two displays. If I unplug the HDMI cable, only one display is shown.

I have confirmed that the monitor works by trying it with another laptop. I have also changed the HDMI cable between the laptop and the external monitor.

Device manager reports that I have the latest display driver installed.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

I surmise the need for step recorder is not common enough to justify enabling the option for Intel driver.

Screen Capture Mouse Cursor position on External Monitor is why I create this post.

When it cannot capture Mouse Position, I use Steps Recorder but it records both Displays...

My Screen Capture is used for following:

1. Power Automate Cloud
   
2. Office 365
   
3. communicate to Tech Support
   

Hoping Microsoft would add features to next version of

1. Step Recorder
   
2. Snip App(s)
   
3. Windows Display setting
   

Assuming most users like me need

1. Mouse cursor position captured by Snip App(s)
   
2. External monitor, when used, is often
   
   1. to extend Display
      
   2. used for important task(s)
      
   3. App such as Office is on External Display
      
   4. Laptop monitor for secondary task(s)
      
   5. Step Recorder is to demo use of Single App, therefore External Monitor
      
   6. Portrait oriented for capturing web pages like Power Automate
