  1. After Installing a new SSD my pc boots perfectly but I can no longer open the explorer

So I copied my old HDD onto a new SSD and afterwards removed the HDD, started my pc again and everything seemed to work fine, I can open steam, my browser opens, but I cannot acces the File explorer as well as some other issue, some apps not working etc. I thought about just whipping the SSD and only have windows on it and install everything anew. But when I try to reset my pc via Settings > updates and security > Recovery I get the msg; C:\\WINDOWS\system32\ResetEngOnline.dll is either not meant for usage under windows or contains an error Install the program with the origin installatio

Bought new SSD, after installation PC will no longer boot properly even after SSD is removed

    Hi,

I recently bought a second SSD drive and installed it. Upon installation, my PC started having major issues.

First of all, my original SSD that I installed windows on will no longer boot properly- when booting directly from it now it just black screens. I tired to fix this by booting from the other drives/options but none of them work (boot manager just says my
windows isnt starting properly and wants me to restart, which does nothing.)

I've tried uninstalling windows, reformatting both drives, and reinstalling with windows USB - which works, until I turn of my PC and it goes back to the original problem.

Next I tried physically uninstalling the new SSD and trying to boot my pc into windows from my original SSD, which now doesn't work and just sits on the black screen... I've also tried switching between UFEI and LEgacy and neither work.

It seems the only way it's working is when I wipe both drives and reinstall windows, it works perfectly fine until as I stated above I reset the PC and the problem begins again.

  3. New ssd won't boot up without old ssd attached to pc - new ssd only has one partition

Only the old ssd is listed in the boot order as the new ssd doesn't have an MBR partition.

The pc recognizes both devices as connected (and I use the new ssd for more than a year with windows installed on it) it just doesn't have the necessary partition for booting up, thats why the ssd doesn't show up as an option in the boot order.

  4. After Installing a new SSD my pc boots perfectly but I can no longer open the explorer

New windows 10 installtion on New SSD - wont boot unless old SSD present

It seems you installed Windows while the both SSDs were connected. This would have caused your current problem. Maybe it is sufficient to do this:

    1. Launch the Disk Manager.
    2. Right-click drive C:, then mark it as "active".
    3. Shut down Windows
    4. Open the BIOS and tell it that the new SSD is the primary boot device.
    5. Disconnect the old SSD.
    6. Boot up normally.

If this does not work then you might have to do this:

    1. Disconnect the old SSD.
    2. Re-install Windows on the new SSD, using the Media Creation Tool.
