Windows 10: After installing June 2021 updates on 1809, patches roll back and don't complete installation

We are still running workstations with version 1809 OS Build 17763.1935 Before you ask, we won't be going to 1909 until the end of year.Because of the way our domain works, we have to load patches by hand and not use the automated update procerss.After loading the latest SSU KB5003711 I loaded KB5003646 without any obvious errors and then rebooted. It gets to about 15% and then says "We couldn't complete the updates" and "getting ready to retry" and appears to retry this a couple of times and then reboots and rolls back everything in the KB leaving the system at the 1776

Patch KB4505903 won't install, PC just hangs and rolls back.

I've upgraded a friend's PC from Win 7 to Win 10. The initial upgrade was a clean install to Win 10 (build 16xx) as this was the ISO I had. Window Update started doing it's thing, upgrading to build 1803 or 1809 I think, then more patches, then it tried
to upgrade to build 1903. This is when problems started.

I had the PC hangs overnight for a number of times. Restarting and it would recover but rollback to build 180x. After trying lots of suggestions I want to a new ISO download from the MS site and did a clean install... success!

Since then it has updated with July's Malicious Tool, the Windows Defender definition updates, 5 driver updates, and then...

• July 9, 2019-KB4506991 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1903
• Security Update for Adobe Flash Player: June 11, 2019

All successfully, however...

• July 26, 2019—KB4505903 (OS Build 18362.267)

Fails to install at all. The PC hangs overnight on a blank screen. I power down and restart, the patch rolls back and Windows Update shows 'Failed to install on 06/08/2019 - 0x800f0845'.

I've tried DISM and SFC /scannow a number of times. I've done the full clean boot process and tried the patch again. I've also tried resetting Windows updates using the automatic script at http://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2015/12/windows... All
with the same result, it hangs then rolls back.

There is no additional hardware attached to the PC. The only apps installed are Google Chrome and Office 2019.

I can access the CBS log files but they don't make much sense to me... I'm not seeing anything like 'error' in the log.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated please.

 

Insurgency wont install and run for me....

I have played and have fully updated CS and Half life 2....
I am using the newest client and installed the SDK.

I am completely blown away, if i click the desktop icon it starts the sdk and then closes, and it doesn't show up in my game list...

First mod attempt install here, followed the directions step by step on the mods website...

Any ideas?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
