    After installing updates today, my mouse is not working correctly


    As mentioned in the subject line, my right mouse button no longer works in the taskbar, and my left button won't work on the start button. I was getting an Intel error message at first, when trying to close a program by right clicking in the task bar, but now I get nothing. I cannot proceed with the steps recommended in another post here, because I can't run the command prompt as an administrator. Recovery didn't work, because I don't have a restore point to work with. Please help.

    We would like to ask additional questions to isolate the issue and get the right solution for you. Please answer the following questions below:

    • Did you notice any recent changes on your PC prior to the issue?
    • Have you tried using a different mouse and check if the issue still happens?

    In the meantime, I suggest that you follow these steps to troubleshoot mouse issues.

    1. Try unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in.
    2. Plug the mouse into a different USB port.
    3. Try the mouse on another computer to verify the issue is not hardware-related.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    Mouse pointer not working correctly

    I have tried all of your suggestions all ready but none of them has helped. It all start back in 2017 with a update of windows insider program and I have tried everything that was suggested and nothing works.
