Windows 10: After last Edge WebView Kit / Edge / Office 365 update this morning our Explorer became...

After some updates on 06/02/2024 our Windows 10 Explorer became super slow on local and network drives. Every click takes a while, especially navigating through folders.The updates were:Office 365 de/enEdgeEdgeWebViewWe uninstalled Edge and Office 365, but could not get rid of the EdgeWebView.I have never ever seen such a negative impact on speed of working after an update. How to restart Microsoft Edge WebView 2 Process ?

Is there any process that can be restarted which is part of the "Microsoft Edge WebView 2" via Tasķ Manager ?

 

Cortana & Office 365 Integration

We are trying to integrate Cortana with our Office 365 subscription, but it never works. Here are the steps we have done:

• Turned on Cortona in the Office 365 Admin portal
• We are using Windows 10 1703 – connected Office 365 service to Cortana

Did the same on windows 10 mobile with no luck, Cortana says its connected to Office 365, but sees no data and we are getting zero errors

We went rough office 365 support first and tried all fo their suggestions, they kicked us over to Windows support which is currently closed.

We are on v1703 with all updates in place, it does not work on Windows 10 desktop or mobile

any ideas? I can give you all steps 365 support had us run through if that will be helpful

Hello Jean,

To aid you with your concern, we suggest that you reset Microsoft Edge and Internet options to isolate/fix the issue. Here's how:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Click on the More actions (Three dots) on Right top corner.
• Click on Settings.
• Then click Choose what to clear.
• Then place a check on the options for Browsing history and other options that you do not use, then click Clear.

Note: The Reset Microsoft Edge Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Microsoft Edge Settings feature might also reset parental
control settings. We recommend that you take note of these sites before you reset.

Next, reset the Internet explorer settings. Just follow these steps:

• Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
• Type-in Internet Options and click on the first result on the list.
• Click the Advanced tab.
• Click the Reset button under Reset Internet Explorer settings.
• Hit OK.
• Relaunch Edge and check if it is working. Reboot machine if necessary.

Update us on the result after doing the said steps.
