Windows 10: After latest upgrade, my profile is corrupted. How to fix?

I get the infamous "We can't sign into your account" & "You've been signed in with a temporary profile" after logging on after the latest upgrade. My profile is fine if I boot in safe mode. But when I logon in normal mode, I login OK, then get the configuring Windows message, which churns for a bit, and then get the "We can't sign in ...". And, I'm not gonna make a new user & copy all my stuff over. Removing the temporary profile in the registry & removing the ".bak" in the ProfileList & clearing the State does nothing.


What to do? Rollback?

I've followed your steps and there's no profile list. Am trying to fix for my sister. Brink please can you help

 

Corrupted User Profile

Hi,

There maybe a couple of reasons behind this misbehavior such as a corrupted system file. However, we would like to be able to verify which process exactly is corrupted.

• When you install, does it give you any form of error message when it fails?
• What other processes doesn't go through on the said User account?

As per troubleshooting, you may refer to
Likhitha V's response on this thread. See if it applies to you. However,
just to give you a heads up. The steps are about creating a new user profile and deleting the current one. I suggest you back up your files so you may be able to transfer it. You can also find information about it on the same thread.

Programs not working

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
