    A month ago I did an upgrade install from Windows 7 to 10. Everything was working fine for a month. But a couple days ago, Windows installed an update and can no longer boot up.The first thing it does is an error screen with this messageCode:The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.File:\WINDOWS\System32\winload.efiError code:0xc000000eWhich is weird because my C Drive is an MBR.If I press F1 to enter a recovery environment it gives me another error with this messageCode:The Boot Configuration Data file doesn't contain v

    Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

    Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

    repairing windows will just fix any damaged files, id suggest taking off your over clocking settings the try booting in, maybe when you updated you also updated some censoring device which is now causing you a problem with your over clock settings.

    As you have mentioned that after installing latest update for Windows 10 pin and fingerprint recognition no longer functioning, I suggest you to let us know the details of that update after which you started experiencing this issue.

    Follow these steps to open the “view update history” screen:


    • Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel.

    • Click on Windows Update.

    You will find “view update history” option in the left panel.
