    Disk Cleanup and Deframent Tools No Longer Working Properly Since Windows 10 Version 2004 Update and KB4565627 Update

    Hi,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    It is very unusual that disk cleanup and defragment/optimization tools are not working after installing the KB4565627 update. We appreciate your effort in troubleshooting the issue and providing us a detailed information.



    In this scenario, we would suggest you to use the latest Storage Sense feature in Windows 10 and check if that helps. Storage Sense can automatically free up space by removing the files you don’t required, like temporary files and
    files in Recycle bin.



    In order to enable this feature we would suggest you to press
    Windows + I key to open Settings > click on
    Systems     > select Storage from left navigation pane > click on
    Configure Storage Sense or run it now > toggle the switch to
    On     under Storage Sense and make the necessary changes > click on
    Clean now under Free up space now.



    If you still face the issue after configuring Storage Sense, then as a part of troubleshooting procedure we would suggest you to uninstall KB4565627 update and check if the tool works
    and let us the status. As this will help us for further investigation.



    Steps to uninstall updates.

    1. Press Windows + R key from the keyboard to open
      Run command.
    2. Type appwiz.cpl and click
      Ok.
    3. Now select View installed updates from the left pane.
    4. Now scroll and spot for
      KB4565627      .
    5. Right click on the update and click
      Uninstall.

    No longer recognizes CD/DVD drive


    Since receiving the Win 10 Home upgrade my computer no longer recognizes the DVD drive. It doesn't show in Device Manger or in the device list in This PC although it does spin up if you insert media into it. I've tried all the suggested remedies except messing with the registry and nothing works. This is one of several problems I've had with device drivers since the upgrade.
