After my PC wakes up the monitor from sleep it will not accept inputs from the USB mouse or keyboard. I have to ctrl/alt/del to get the Task Manager up, then press the esc key and keyboard and mouse start working. The PC is brand new running Windows 11

Monitor will not wake from sleep

When my PC wakes from sleep it always used to wake the monitor as well but now when the PC wakes the monitor does not respond. The only way to solve the problem is to do a hard reset of the PC. The PC is definitely waking from sleep. it is just the monitor.

I have read multiple forums trying to find a solution but nothing seems to work. things I have tried:

• updating BIOS
  
• restoring Windows
  
• running Windows Update
  
• trying a different monitor
  
• checking monitor settings
  
• turning off Fast Startup
  
• Running Troubleshooter Power
  
• turning off Link State Power Management
  
• Restarting in Safe Mode
  
• Updating and Rolling Back the display adaptor
  
• checking that keyboard and mouse can wake the PC
  
• probably a few more that I have forgotten

PC waking up automatically from sleep mode

As indicated in my post, it is the monitor, not the PC that I am having trouble keeping it in sleep mode.

I have set the monitor to sleep at one minute. When it does, it wakes immediately. Something is waking it up.

Your suggestion to untick the mouse & keyboard "Allow this device to wake the computer" did not work, however if I remove the mouse/keyboard dongle, the monitor stays asleep. I have changed batteries, removed batteries from mouse/keyboard,
so they do not work but still the monitor wakes right-away.

Since the transceiver is in a USB 3.0 port, could this be a related problem?

Strange USB mouse behavior - wake PC from sleep

I Have a USB mouse plugged into a USB 2 port on my PC's back panel. For years I've I've awakened the PC from sleep using a mouse click. Several days ago I replaced a USB 2 hub (plugged into another USB 2 port on the back panel) with a USB 3 hub plugged into a USB 3 port on the back panel. Suddenly the mouse could no longer waken the PC even though the mouse did not use the hub. The mouse, including the buttons, still worked. It just wouldn't wake the PC. Device manager showed that "Allow this device to wake the computer" was still selected. After switching back to the USB 2 hub the mouse would again wake the PC.

I'm not sure how much (if any) of the following information is pertinent.

• The mouse is a Logitech M-U0007 using the vanilla Microsoft HID-complaint mouse driver (10.0.18362.1). I am not using the Logitech SetPoint driver.
• The PC has an old ASUS Z-87A MB.
• None of the devices plugged into the USB hub actually need USB 3 support: a keybord (with an integrated USB hub), a USB connection to a UPS box, sometimes an i-lock dongle.
• I'm running Win 10 1909 - build 18363.592.

Any idea what might be causing this behavior?

BTW, I'd plug the the USB 3 hub back in (without removing the USB 2 hub) and test this again but I'm in the middle of an hours-long backup and don't want to put the PC to sleep right now.
