Windows 10: After "On resume, display logon screen", logging in continuously loads

On a Windows 10 Dell Latitude, log in problems keep occurring.

The screensaver first locks the device using "On resume, display logon screen." Upon entering the credentials to log in again, the Laptop continuously appears to be loading with the spinning dots. This never resolves however, and a reset by pushing the power button down is required.


Any ideas how to fix this?

Lock screen not working even though 'On resume, display logon screen' is checked

Hello,

The Lock screen is not working even though 'On resume, display logon screen' is checked. I have the the settings as 'Wait 10 minutes'. The screen saver does not function (bubble) so I assume that is why the 'On resume, display logon screen' is not working.
So over night as an example I do not use the computer so assume something is still running that stops it activating the screen saver? So can I check what activity stops the screen saver activating? Thanks

 

logon screen after monitor sleeps

I have set my screensaver to start after 7 minutes and my display to sleep after 15 minutes. The "on resume display logon screen" box is unchecked. Regardless, since the May 1903 update the logon screen appears when I resume. This is not the end of the
world serious but is irritating since I'm lazy and a terrible typist. Any suggestions? Thanks!

 

No password prompt at login screen at screen saver...cannot get back without reboot

Hi,

This issue may occur if the display logon screen option is disabled on the screen saver settings. We suggest that you follow these steps on how to enable the
display logon screen option:

• On Cortana search, type settings.
• Choose Settings from the list.
• Click on Personalization, then select on Lock screen at the left pane.
• Click on Screen saver settings, then put a tick on the
  On resume, display logon screen.
• Click on Apply, then click on OK.
