    After recent update, now require Ctrl-Alt-Del to wake up locked Win11

    Back in the day of NT3.51 or NT4.01, to wake up a locked machine you had to do Ctrl-Alt-Del, but ever since then you could wake it up with just the press of a key or a click on a mouse button. I've been doing that for 20 years.With the most recent Windows update though, I now have to do Ctrl-Alt-Del again. That's inconvenient if I'm carry something with one hand. I deliberately chose a pin where all the numbers were close to each other so I could do a one-handed login. Now I can't.Is there any way to switch the bringing up of the login screen with just a keypress again?

    :)

  2. Ctrl Alt Del, Vista

    The whole Ctrl+Shift+Esc should be used to get that crazy screen with those options and Ctrl+Alt+Del should bring up TM.

    App activity when ctrl-alt-del screen lock is on

    using Win10 education version
    when a user is logged on to a network, can apps that are in use still communicate out to the network when the user locks the screen with ctrl-alt-del to step away from their computer for a few minutes?

    After recent update, now require Ctrl-Alt-Del to wake up locked Win11

    Ctrl Alt Del, Vista

    On a domain you won't get Task Manager when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del. You get a crazy screen with a bunch of options.

    Ctrl+Shift+Esc has always brought up just the Task Manager, even back to Windows XP days. You just weren't aware of it. *Wink After recent update, now require Ctrl-Alt-Del to wake up locked Win11 ;)

    Go ahead, try it in Windows XP too.

    Lock/login screen sometimes requires ctrl+alt+del to enter password: Whenever I lock the computer with WIN+L, most of the time I can press any key on the keyboard and it will bring up the password field.
