Windows 10: After recent update sometimes Audio won't play on browser-based videos.

After the recent update, sometimes when I go to start a video from Youtube, or a streaming service the audio will not play. If I reload the page, or manually move the play timer back to 0:00 the sound will then function. This issue happens regardless of if I'm using my speakers using Reaktek HD Audio, or my headset and is maybe like 30% of the time.

• Which browser are you using?
• Does this issue occurs using different browser?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

1. Press Windows key on your keyboard

2. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting..

3. Click on view all (on the left panel)

4. Select Playing Audio troubleshooter

5. Follow the prompted steps to troubleshoot this issue.

6. Follow the same steps to troubleshoot
Video playback.

Step 2: Also try to update drivers and check.

How to fix no sound in some video & audio files played in Google Chrome and Opera browsers?

Steps that fixed my issue:

• Open Creative Audio Control Panel
  
• In Speaker Configuration section,
  change 7.1 Speakers to 2/2.1 Speakers.
  

This immediately fixed my issue and I did not even need to reboot. All the previous video and audio files I was having an issue with play fine now in Google Chrome & Opera browser.

• Does the issue happens when playing videos online or you have experienced the latency when playing videos that are saved on your drive too?
