Windows 10: After recent windows 10 update - explorer.exe crashes on multiple occ.

i used the external micro sd card to update to newest windows 10 on
hp pavilion x2 ng200 convertable laptop 64gb
i deleted old windows temp files and external card from all files
cleaned and checked C for errors

then i figured out : everytime i open explorer and rightclick on any file the explorer.exe crashes..
same when i click right on WINDOWS tab

explorer.exe crashes multiple times per minute after recent Win10 update

The PC is an HP Pavilion 550-227c. After a recent install of updates the PC 'blinks' every few seconds. The blinking is explorer.exe crashing and re-starting. To end the blinking system the Problem Resolution and Windows Error Reporting services can
be stopped. [This is what yielded the advisory windows which told me that it was explorer.exe was causing the problem.]

By viewing the 'Reliability History' in Control Panel/Maintenance the explorer.exe shows up as having crashed several times per minute. Is there a fix for this other than a reload of the operating system?

 

Frequent Random Crashing/Shut Down

My computer is crashing repeatedly. It started just recently (perhaps after last Windows update?). My computer just goes to a blue screen with frown face saying that something went wrong and is restarting.

My specs:

1. Lenovo Thinkpad T420

2. There are random crashes. Shuts whole system down and restarts. Happens multiple times every day. It happens at any given time, whether I have multiple apps open or after a fresh restart (it has even crashed right after restarting from a crash, before
I even logged in).

3. I'm running Windows 10

Hi, try disabling shell extensions:
Download, install & run Shellexview (free).
Hide all MS extensions, disable all others noting the 32 bit option which exposes more.
See if that makes any difference. If so, identify which one (or more) is causing the problem.
(remember to reverse the changes afterwards)

If not-
Note at what time explorer crashes.
Check your Reliability History (type relia in Cortana's search bar), and checking the time matches, click on the relevant x and inspect the crash details.

What is your build level?

The program is frequently used here for exactly this purpose, and comes from a source of widely respected utilities.
1.Hide all MS extensions (see Options)
2. Enable the 32 bit option (see Options).
3. Disable all others (CTRL A - the standard 'select all') - then rt click, click disable selected items.
