Windows 10: After recent windows update, I can not access my security camera application b/c it says...

After recent windows update, I can not access my security camera application anymore. App network times out but all other apps I see are working fine & I am connected to the network fine as far as I can tell. Software company says it's my computer from the update. What do I do cause it was fine up until this update?

Step 1: I would suggest you to open Camera app and check if you are able to access the webcam or not.

  Type camera app in search bar and you will be able to open camera app.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to install the latest available web-cam software from the manufacture web site and check if it helps.

Step 3: I suggest you to check for the latest updates.

  Press Windows logo key +R, enter
  MS-settings: and then press OK. This opens Settings.

  In Settings, go to Update & security >
  Windows Update, and then select Check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your PC if required.

Camera and card reader not working after recent update

As per the issue description you are facing issue with Camera and card reader after installing latest update.
I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

• Do you remember the KB number of the update which you think is the cause of issue?
• Are you using card reader slot or any USB port for using card reader?
• Are all the Device drivers and Windows updates updated?
• Are you facing issue with the Camera app? If yes, Do you get an error code/message when you open the Camera app?

This issue could be caused due to some incorrect app settings or due to some corrupt app files. As you mention that there is no drivers for these device then the issue could also be due to the drivers. I would suggest
you to try these steps and check:

First, I would suggest you to check if the Camera app has permissions to access the camera.

Method 1:

Open Camera App and follow the steps given below and check.

a) Press “Windows key + C key” from your keyboard to open “Charms bar”.

b) Select “Settings” option.

c) Select “Permissions” option.

d) Turn on “Allow this app to access your: Webcam and Microphone” option.

e) Close the app by pressing “Alt key + F4” from your keyboard.

f) Reopen the Camera app.

Method 2:

Run the hardware troubleshooter and check the status of your issue.
Follow the steps:

• Press “Windows key”.
• Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search box and select Troubleshooting from the list.
• Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.
• Select “Hardware and Devices” under Devices option.
• Follow the On Screen instructions.

Method 3

If issue still persists, then install the drivers for Windows 8/8.1 from the manufacturer's website in compatibility mode and check if that works.
