Windows 10: After reinstalling a crashed copy of windows 11 .I cannot download Firefox browser

Maybe if they wrote decent software that didn't crash to the point of having to reinstall windows we would want it ?Maybe if Microsoft stopped its incessant meddling , manipulation and spying we might actually want microsoft edge ?Neither of the above are anywhere near the truth .So we do things like spend 10+ years with browsers like Firefox. I'm familiar with it and years and hundreds of password / logins are used daily .Today I had to reinstall windows 11 after a black screen and failed attempts at repairing .I asked during install to restore last backup in my Microsoft account .What I got

Firefox browser crashing in Windows 11

From several weeks, my Firefox browser in Windows 11 laptop crashing. I usually have 3-4 tabs open in it then a warning is displayed that "browser not responding"

I asked some of my friends who are using Firefox in their Window 10 laptop, they're not facing any issue.

Chrome and brave running smoothly in my laptop and my laptop has decent specifications: 8gb ram + intel i5 12th gen

 

New Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox

Anyone who uses Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox may be pleased to hear that the Windows Media Player team has now released a plugin for Firefox that should allow the browser to play WMP content on websites. Here are the steps to get it working:

• Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
• Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
• Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.

There is a known issue if you are using Firefox version 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista with the installer failing with error code -203. To work around this simply restart Firefox (you will get a notification that Windows Vista will be changing the Firefox compatibility settings) and then install again - the second time should succeed.

The download is available here, and the new plugin works on all versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (although it is mostly intended for Vista, as that currently has no WMP support in Firefox).

Firefox crashes non-stop!!!

I have went back to Firefox 3.6 for this reason.

With the newer Firefox releases, I would find that it would crash and cause my whole system to hang and the only way I could recover from it would be to boot Windows 7 in safe mode, uninstall and then reinstall Firefox.....but bollox to that every 1-2 days.
