  1. After reinstalling Windows, I now don't have permissions for my own files.

I have reinstalled Windows using 10 Home Edition by moving it from a 120GB SSD to a 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD. This is because the 120GB kept getting so full that it was causing Windows to crash a lot, and I found it a pain to manage the files every few days to keep Windows from crashing.I did this by making a boot drive with an external USB hard drive. Now my old disk drives are inaccessible because of a lack of permissions. There are some files which I can access, but some folders which Windows won't allow me to even open, despite being the only user account which is an admin account on the comput

    2. Go to Security tab and select Edit.
    3. Select Add button
    4. Type Everyone then select Check Names. Click OK to save changes.
    5. you will be back in the previous window, under Group or users names, choose Everyone then check mark Full control.

Windows 7 - Messed up permissions

Well, i figured out what 1/2 the problem was after reinstalling windows. If you disable GUI Boot and there is a diskscan scheduled, the pc will appear to hang *Bang Head :banghead:

Still, i had the problem with permissions that i couldn't edit the boot files using msconfig.exe. The tool didn;t fix it *Frown After reinstalling Windows, I now don't have permissions for my own files. :(

  4. After reinstalling Windows, I now don't have permissions for my own files.

    cannot access file/or permissions

I have a file i need to run on Windows 7 Home Premium. I get the error message saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

So I right click and choose Properties to access the permissions but I cannot. In the Security tab I get a message saying, " You do not have permission to view or edit this objects permission settings.".

Next I boot into the Windows 7 Hidden Administrator Mode - and even with this I get all the same error messages.

Please help me as I really need to run This file.
