Windows 10: After reinstalling windows, some programs and games just aren't running.

So, a couple of days ago I noticed that the rear exhaust fan in my PC was not running, so I opened up my PC to see if it was due to a loose cable, It was, but after screwing the cover back onto the chassis I noticed that my computer was no longer booting and getting stuck on the VGA stage, so I opened the chassis back up once more to make sue the graphics card was connected properly. After this I got the PC to post in safemode and thought all was well. However, I had noticed some issues with how my PC was performing such as games being more laggy then they should be, so I did a SFC scan and de

Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly

Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

Follow this steps:

    Press Windows+X.

    Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    
  • 
    Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
    Enter.

Problems with running games

I suggest you to try installing games in compatibility mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

  Right-click on the setup file and click on ‘Properties’.

  Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once
  this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
