    After reloading win11, MS account PW is rejected


    While reloading win 11 from an ISO download, it asked for MS account PW as part to the new install. This PC had two factor identification. The PW was good and working up until the new install, so why is it not accepting the PW now? So, I selected "forgot PW" and then it was looking for two factor identification. The first part went Ok, but the second factor became a problem and now for security reason from MS, I have to wait until May 15th +/_??? No way. The MS Account PW was good, I write them in a logbook, it does not get forgotten, but MS says it was wrong when I entered it.So how do I cont

    If I put in my email address later on it asks for my Skype name and rejects it then.

    When I tapped on the icon it only produced my email address; not my live name.

    After using this email address I am next asked to enter my Skype name. Obviously, it is rejected.

    Win10 Desktop Logon with MS Account; But How Do I Have Different PW's???????

    Greg - thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like this might be a challenging one.

    1. The MS account and the Widows desktop account are both using the same email address. Confirmed.

    2. Further evidence; when I log into my MS account via Firefox, I can see the desktop in the "my devices" section. So that pretty much proves the MS account is "linked" to the desktop. Also, further data point; I recently (2 weeks ago) added 8GB of memory
    to this desktop to top it out at 16GB. And sure enough, on the MS account device page, this desktop shows it has 16GB. So my MS account is getting updated data from the desktop.

    The link you provided is for changing your MS account pw. I've done that many time over the years, but the desktop pw has always stayed the same.

    I'll let this discussion go for a bit and see if anyone has any other thoughts. I'm leaning toward my original suspicion of Win7. After a few weeks if no one has any other input, I think my plan will be to change to a local account for a week, and then change
    back to an MS account. That will be the test to see if Windows asks for the same pw as my MS account.
