after Restore Point completed, now Blue Stop screen shows up

Hi everyone. I have 2018 Dell Inspiron 5570 with i7-8550U processor, 12 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, Windows 10 64 bit with Windows 10 20H2 update (Oct 2020 update). Back on Aug 4th, I ran Windows10debloater to remove bloatware. On Aug 11th, I decided to create a recovery disk. Screen showed the "Please Wait" message with moving green bar. I waited probably 7 minutes or so. I thought something was wrong since it seemed to just hang there (maybe I should have waited longer). So I decided to use a previous Restore Point (which was created before using Windows10debloater). I thought maybe that was causing the issue. It took almost 3 hours for Restore Point to complete. Windows seemed to boot up normally. But before I could do anything, the computer just froze (bottom right time clock didn't change). I waited 15 minutes before holding power button down to turn off the laptop. After turning on laptop, I get the Blue Stop screen with message "Critical Process Died." The screen has a frowning face and says "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll fix restart for you." I hit F12 after restarting laptop. I used Dell's SupportAssist OS Recovery. I used Scan Hardware and Repair functions. Everything came back okay. But when I start the laptop, the Dell logo shows up, then Blue Stop screen shows up, then Dell Logo, then Blue Stop screen, and so on. It is just repeats this loop. With Dell's SupportAssist OS Recovery, I used Back Up Files, but somehow Documents and Pictures folders are empty. I would like to get these folders back. 1) Is there a way to get these Documents and Pictures folders? Did Restore Point delete them? I used Back Up Files (Basic) to download 40 GB data to a flash drive. I am currently using Back Up Files (Advanced) so I can select all files on the C: drive--hoping Documents and Pictures folders will be there. The file size is 82 GB, but it seems to be stuck at 362 MB for the past hour, so I may have to cancel this process. 2) SupportAssist OS Recovery also has a Reset button--it offers "install the factory operating system or upgrade to the latest operating system available." Is this the best option to go with at this point, so Windows can work properly? I had not made a backup for this laptop previously. Thank you.

    :)

Windows 10 System Restore Show More Restore Points Box Missing and Restore Points Being Deleted or Missing

    Hi Steven,

There are several reasons why the Show more restore points check box is missing. Some of these are the following:

    • You run out of disk space on the system drive or on any one of the available non-system drives, and System Restore stops responding and stops monitoring your system.
    • You manually turn System Restore off.
    • You upgrade from one operating system to another or you reinstall the operating system

In your case, as you have reinstalled Windows, it's possible that all restore points are deleted, that's why the
Show more restore points check box is not appearing. Did you delete all the partitions when you reinstall Windows? If yes, then all the manually and automatically created restore points will disappear. For further isolation of the issue, we suggest that
you create a new restore point and monitor if it will disappear in a few days just like the others.

    We'll wait for your response.
