    After starting up, my PC begins to freeze severely and eventually displays a blue screen


    Upon startup or waking from sleep mode, within 3-10 minutes, about 50% of the time, the computer starts to freeze increasingly more until everything becomes extremely sluggish. After about 2 minutes of freezing, the internet connection stops working, and the system ends up with a blue screen. It only starts working normally after a reboot. During the freezing episodes, the Task Manager shows no significant load on the GPU, CPU, or RAM. What could be causing this behavior, and how can it be fixed?

    PC Build Steps

    Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

    PC freezes during start up

    At start up, my PC freezes at the pre log on page - the screen before, and which would normally lead to, the password entry / log on screen - It shows mail accounts being updated and the digital clock display operates, but PC does not respond to any input other than to power down. PC is a Dell, about 18 months old, but I do not have system specs. Any suggestions?
