Windows 10: after talking to microsoft support. i got msg installing update browser 11 and NOW UNABLE...

any ideas on how to find files Microsoft downloaded to improve the browser. And NOW makes browser useless for doing biz. WILL NOT GO TO SITE. yes I did check using FireFox to see if I was still connected to the web.


The biz site I NEVER had problems with before.


I did look at list to uninstall updates. did not find one for today that said anything about browser.


I will thank any and all for any ideas.

Internet Explorer 11 outdated browser

I keep getting messages on IE 11 from some sites that tell me my browser is outdated such as

A Yahoo news article

"Some parts of this page is not supported on your current browser version. {msg}"

and another one today was trying to place an order and it said

"You are using an outdated browser.
The online ordering on this website requires a newer browser.

To upgrade your browser please see your browser settings or
click here."

I did the click here to see and it offered me the options of Edge, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera

So have Microsoft ditched IE11 as a recognised supported browser or are companies removing it from their lists etc ? I like using IE 11 and don't really want to use Edge etc

 

Yahoo no longer supports IE 11


Resurrected this thread because I've found a workaround/fix for this problem, as it turns out it is a Microsoft problem. Happened to see a topic on a Yahoo Forum titled "Yahoo Mail switches to Basic view after installing Windows 10 Anniversary Update" I've posted a screen shot of the post below. I did what was suggested and it worked immediately on both computers that had this problem. Tools > Compatibility View settings uncheck "Use Microsoft compatibility lists"

Now the problem is actually resolved thanks to Arcazeon on the Yahoo Forum *Biggrin
