After the cut off date, am I good to load.

Sincere apologies if question been asked & answered before.
I have Win 10 32bit, 64bit, Win 10 Pro all on separate PC/Laptops. I done clean installs from either Win 7 home or Professional, my question is when I done the clean installs I done it from each separate ISO file dedicated to that computer PC/Laptop.
Just purchased an old HP Elitebook 8540P with Win 7 Professional loaded, quite impressed playing with it at the moment, could I after the end of July (cut off point from Microsoft) load one of my ISO file DVD's for Windows 10 Pro, your thoughts as always most appreciated.*Eek

    :)

Yes you can. You will have two issues. The first issue is that your existing ISO will be outdated. It will be version 1511, and after July 29th the current version of Windows 10 will be version 1607 (Anniversary update). The second issue is that if you do not install it until after July 29th you will have to pay the full price for Windows 10 to activate it.

So the big question is what is keeping you from upgrading now?

First, separate ISO files are not the point of focus, but separate license is. An ISO image can be used to install the OS in numerous computers, but a license can activate only one of those installations at a time.

Second, as windows 7 is a qualified previous OS, the digital entitlement is granted via an upgradation. You need to upgrade it first. The process is ....

Upgrade > Acquire Digital Entitlement > Go for how many clean installs you want, without using a key.
If it is not upgraded at the first place but a direct clean installation of windows 10 is done, you must have acquired new windows 10 license keys from microsoft for all those computers.

Third, if you want to upgrade to windows 10 from any windows 7 device, do it within the cut-off date, not after that.
If you upgrade within the due date, it will be a free upgrade; but after that you have to pay for the windows 10 license.

My dilemma solved, love win 7, but enjoying my Win 10 even more, so going for the download before date. Cheers for your input.
