I have a HP Pavillion TS 17t-G100 that is 4 years old and while helping my son solve an issue on his new HP laptop with HP assistant through the HP website, I decided to run a diagnostic on my Pavillion laptop. After doing what it does, I was recommended updating my Bios, so I did. After it restarted it did not ask for me to enter my PIN, but enter my "administrator password or power on password" which I haven't used in 2 or more years or what it was. After 3 wrong attempts a blue box with "i 70425217" appears and blocks me until I restart it again. Is there a way to bypass the passwords and u

Unable to access HP Simple Pass to Sign-in to the computer on Windows 10

• Do let us know the make and model of your computer?
• Have you installed HP simple pass software on your computer?

Try the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to download the latest HP Simple Pass software from the manufacturer's website install it and check if it helps.

Step 2: If you have already installed the software, I suggest you to re-install it and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to Access Recovery Manager:

• Press Start button from the keyboard, type Recover Manager.
• Select Recovery Manager from the list when it becomes available. Allow the action to continue, if prompted. The
  HP Recovery Manager opens.
• Click Software program re-installation, Next , select
  HP SimplePass for the listing and then follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall application

access BIOS settings in Win 10

I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated
series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?

 

New HP Bios updated back to S mode

I purchased an HP Envy X360 in September of 2018 in December of 2018 I updated the BIOS using the HP Support Assistant software; the computer started having graphics problems. Long story short, I wasn't able to roll back the BIOS update and HP did a repair
under warranty. The computer was returned with the previous BIOS installed and months later when a new BIOS version was released it wasn't the same as the problem BIOS. Here is a link to an HP support page with the steps to update the BIOS, maybe you can roll

Toward the bottom of this page is "Update the BIOS on the original computer:" follow the steps to access the "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI menu" and see if you can revert to the previous BIOS without having to go through the steps of creating a bootable
USB drive.
