Windows 10: After the latest Windows 11 update, Hello insists that I login constantly, even though this...

I have read all the blogs about Windows 11's Hello annoyances, and had it working the way I wanted i.e. Never until the latest Windows 11 update. Now, Hello doesn't seem to care what "If you've been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again?" is set to. It ALWAYS demands that I sign in again, even if I leave my computer for only like 15 seconds. This, in spite of rebooting after every time I try a different setting, like "15 minutes." By the way, when that setting is changed, there is no notification that I need to reboot... I'm just trying everything/anything to get this extrem

As you have mentioned that after installing latest update for Windows 10 pin and fingerprint recognition no longer functioning, I suggest you to let us know the details of that update after which you started experiencing this issue.

Follow these steps to open the “view update history” screen:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Windows Update.
  

You will find “view update history” option in the left panel.

Constantly stuck on logging in after latest Windows update

Asking on behalf of my partner, whom I'm trying to troubleshoot for... after the latest automatic Windows update, his desktop Windows 10 installation gets constantly stuck at the login screen. Entering anything into the password field results in it "loading" for minutes or hours until we manually power it off.

Things we've tried:

• Entering BIOS so we can try loading in safe mode. We cannot enter BIOS. The usual key (del) does not work when booting up. Other common key combinations don't work either. I suspect it's because the keyboard isn't detected until Windows itself loads, at which point it's too late to enter BIOS
  
• Trying to access safe mode or a restore point in other ways. There doesn't seem to be that option from the Windows login screen
  

Is there anything else we can try without having to reinstall Windows entirely? (Which would hopefully be the last resort)

• Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.
• Do the same for the Windows Hello.
