Windows 10: After the most recent Windows 10 update, HDMI cable suddenly stopped working

My fairly new HDMI cable connection from laptop to TV was working perfectly fine until I updated my computer this morning. Since then the video is fine but the audio comes from my computer rather than the TV, like it used to. I've tried resetting both the TV and computer, changing the inputs and outputs, updating/uninstalling/replacing drivers, and nothing works. Is there something I'm missing, or am I just stuck like this?

HDMI Port Stopped Working

I generally use a second monitor via an HDMI cable while working. However, it stopped working today.

I checked these:

• Windows cannot detect a second monitor when HDMI cable is connected to the second monitor.
• HDMI cable which I use works if another device is connected to the second monitor.
• My computer detects my HDMI-to-VGA converter through HDMI port.

My computer runs Windows 10 Home with latest updates installed.

I suspect this is due to a driver error. How can I fix this problem?

 

HDMI Cable not working on lenovo z560 post upgrade to window 10

I have recently upgraded window 7 to window 10 and post upgrade HDMI cable is not working on lenovo z560. Please suggest way forward.
