Windows 10: After Update 1/14/25, Windows 11 Now Requires Password. How to Remove That?

My system is configured to boot up without lock screen and without asking for a password.Today Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems KB5050009 installed itself. Now the system does require a password.How can I restore bypassing the password, so I don't have to prove myself to Microsoft every time I boot up my own computer?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

If you do not want to enter the password after logging in from sleep mode, I suggest you to follow the steps below to select don't require a password in the power option and check if it helps

1.Click on
Search bar.

2. Type "Power options" without the quotes in Search bar and click on it.

3. Then click on require a password on wakeup

4. Now Click on change settings that are currently unavailable

5. Click on don’t require a password.
