Windows 10: After Update all icons are now on Monitor 2

Hello Earthlings, I have checked the Microsoft FAQ first and it is the same as in 2017 with the exception that changing the icon size does not change the fact that the icons are moving to Monitor 2 on start up. tried rebooting, safe mode does not work with 2nd monitor. Unchecked AUTO ARRANGE and Snap to Grid is checked. I am currently up to date on all drivers. Currently using Monitor 1 Samsung LED TV via HDMI and a 22" acer monitor as a 2nd via HDMI. So I'm stumped..

Icons move to the left on a 4K monitor

This issue might occur if there is display settings or icon settings.



To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• What is the make and model of the computer?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to change auto arrange icon settings and also update display adapter driver in the Device Manager. Check if it helps.



Step 1: I recommend you to change auto arrange icon settings.

1. Right click on Desktop screen.

2. Then click on View.

3. Uncheck mark on Auto arrange icons.



Step 2: I suggest you to update the latest driver for display adapter in the Device Manager.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on
Enter Key.

3. Expand Display Adapter.

4. Right click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.

5. Follow the instruction to update the driver.

Trouble with 2 monitors

I suggest you to change the settings to Extended Monitor and check if it helps.

Please follow below steps:

• Right Click any ware of the Desktop, and launch Personalization.
• Go to dual monitor settings under personalization, and change it Extended Monitor.

How to get a program to start up on monitor 2

Hello,

You may customize your display and place the icons of the programs that you like in your preferred monitor. To help you resolve your concern, kindly follow these steps:

• Go to Settings and then click System.
• Click Display and then place your programs or icons to monitor 2.
• Click the monitor 2, put a check mark in "Make this my main display" and then click Apply.
