Hello I have windows 11 and got the 22h2 update. Then about a hour later the fan speed went to high speed and never has gone back to cycle on and off when needed like it used to. And I have the power settings for the screen set right and when i stop using my laptop the screen would not go off until the correct times it was set at. Now in about 1 minute the screen goes off when plugged in or unplugged when i stop using it. and then i have to sign back in right away instead of it not being used for 15 minutes like before then i would have to sign back in. Manually adjust Lenovo S740 Fan speed

    Hi Tatinausa,

Generally, when the processor is running at a high clock speed, the fans should ramp up to full speed automatically to keep the system cool.

On that model, the only option may be to change the power plan.

Open the old Control Panel (not the Settings app), at the top right, set View to icons

    Open Power Options.

What Power Plan is your laptop set to, is that Balanced?

If it is, the fan speeds should adjust automatically

Do you see other Power Plans, like Performance or Ultimate performance?

Either of those should set the fans to be always at top speed.

    Laptop fan 1 not working?

Hey, for a while I've noticed that one of my laptop fans on my gaming laptop does not work. I have a program on my laptop called Dragon Gaming Centre and it says that fan 1 speed is 0 RPM, but my laptop fan 2 speed is about 5000 RPM when I have it on high.
Don't know if it's possible that I turned it off somehow or if it could be a physical issue with it being broken.

I was wondering if I could have some suggestions on how how to troubleshoot what the problem is so I can know how to fix it and solutions if possible. It's caused me lots of problems already because my CPU overheats and causes me to get low fps spikes in
    games.

Thank you so much for your time and help. after update my laptop fan was stuck on high speed and the power settings would not work right :)
