Windows 10: after updating my windows 10 64-bit drivers my sound stopped working. Here are my hardward

Sound on laptop 64 bit, Windows 10, stopped working

The sound on my, MSI laptop 64 bit, Windows 10, stopped working with the up-date August 2017. What do I do to fix it?

I've tried these suggested steps multiple times and it did not help.

Then I've made a clean installation (erased/formated everything on my HDD) of Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit and upgraded immediately to Windows 10 at the end of the installation of win 8.1.

After that sound was fine (only GPU drivers manually installed and no other manually downloaded drivers) but then after 2 or 3 restarts sound was gone again.

I then updated the driver/codec (i have Realtek ALC892) with Realtek Audio Codecs R2.79 and for now it did the trick.

Sound stopped working

I got through one problem already, but now I realized my sound doesn't work. I have an ASUS gamer's republic laptop running at 64 bit.

I do not have the option to run any windows drivers. If I go to update drivers and manually select a driver asked to by a help person on here, it gives me the option to select it then, but then I get a message saying if I choose to do this update, it could
cause problems to the computer. There are 3 sound devices on the list:

NVIDIA High Definition Audio

NVIDIA Virtual Audio Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)

VIA HD Audio

The hardward ID is for the first one. Please help!
