Windows 10: After updating my windows, Bit Locker was automatically enabled. Now I can't sign in...

I have updated my laptop, and BitLocker was somehow enabled Maybe the update contains a FirmWare update too. From the other forums and help articles, I found one must disable or back up the recovery key before updating the OS. But why didn't the OS show any prompt to the user regarding this before updating the OS? If so, I would be aware of the issue and I would do any one of the above two things. Now, I can't sign in to my machine since I don't have a recovery key. I haven't stored it anywhere. And, I need to re-install the OS and I lose my old data.My question is, why didn't the OS itself

Win 10 no boot, bit locker is enabled

I have a Dell laptop that will not boot into windows 10 (BSOD 0x0000000f) but pc has bit locker enabled. How can I troubleshoot or perform repairs to windows with bit locker enabled and no ability to boot into windows?

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.
