Windows 10: After updating the drivers some older games like NFS MW'05 not launch

After updating my graphics card drivers IntelR HD Graphics, I encountered issues with some older games. For instance, Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2005 fails to launch. When I double-click the game, the screen turns black for a second before returning to normal, without any error messages. Additionally, Super Meat Boy displays numerous errors all shown in the attached images.

NFS Won't RUN with All Compatibility settings, when it runs and saved Alias, it freezes on Main Menu

What is the source of your copy of NFS-MW ? I have the original disc based version of NFS-MW '05 and it ran well on Win10,

and still runs well on Win11.

However, my disc based version needs to use a noCD fix\hack to run on Win10\11 due to MS's DRM blocking 'security feature'

which they built into Win10\11 that prevents games that use SafeDisc copy protection from running

(most fail to launch, but some crash before loading gameplay).

btw - I'm not using any Compatibility options, but Windows will force the Change High DPI Settings option anyway

(as Windows does with a lot of games that don't need it, but fails to do with older games that do need it).

 

Need for speed 2012, Code error 080645 when I want to enter the game

- Is your game on disc, or did you download from EA or other online game retailer ?

NFS-MW 2012 and NFS-MW '05 run well on Win10. Win11 too. NFS-MW 2012 runs without needing to use

any Compatibility settings, tweaks or fixes, but I use the High DPI setting option with '05.

- The minimum specs for the game calls for 512MB dedicated VRAM. I don't know if this is one of them, but some games are coded

more strictly than others and will not accept integrated graphics such as Intel HD\UHD because they have no dedicated VRAM

and use system RAM for graphics.
