Windows 10: After updating to windows 11 22h2 my microphone has stopped working.

After updating to windows 11 22h2 my microphone has stopped working. It is detected when it is plugged in but no sound is picked up. I have tested this with 2 different headsets and tested those headsets on a windows 10 PC and they work fine. Even doing a clean install of Win11 22h2 does not fix the problem. It was definitely working before the update. This was also tested on 2 sperate PC's one is a MSI Z-690 edge WiFi with a 13700k and the other is an Asus ROG Strix Z-690-F Gaming WiFi with a 12700k and it has had the same problem on both. I checked the Mic permissions on both PC's and a

After installing windows 11 22H2 update get Stop Code RTKVHD64.

After installing windows 11 22H2 update get Stop Code RTKVHD64. I then have to revert back to windows 11 22H1. Any suggestions

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

Step by step fix:

• I went into recording devices
• I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
• Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't

Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

 

Windows 11 22H2 on my Windows 11

Hi - my Dell XPS 15 7590 originally came with Windows 10 but I upgraded to Windows 11 without problems. Now running Windows 11 21H2 OS Build 22000.1098

Windows update is not offering me Windows 11 22H2 to download/install.

My Windows Registry does not seem to have any reference to '"DestBuildNum, UpEx, UpExU, and RedReason" keys.

Is there some incompatibility with my system that is stopping Windows Update from offering me 22H2?

I'm also registered for Windows Insider and that does offer me an Insider version of 22H2.
