I updated Windows 10 to KB5040525 OS Build 19045.4717 today but it gave me a lot of problems. The system boots very slowly. This problem did not exist in previous versions. The touchpad is disabled and I cannot work with the system. Even the ports are out of order and the mouse and USB don't work. The icons of the programs I pinned are hidden and the sound card does not recognize it. Is there a way to go back to a previous version of Windows?***Move from Microsoft 365 and Office / Word / Unknown / Windows***

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Update KB5040525 Kills Start Button

    Thanks Robinson,

I had the exact same problem with KB5040525 killing the Start Button on Windows 10. Uninstalling KB5040525 it fixes the problem. Using wushowhide.diagcab following the update uninstall is an excellent means of ensuring that Windows 10 automatic updates doesn't reload the dodgy update.

    Thanks,

Windows 10 Update KB5040525 Kills Start Button

I removed KB5040525 and the start button worked normally.

I re-installed KB5040525 and the start button failed.

I removed it again and the start button worked normally.

    I hid the KB5040525 update.

Can you answer what caused the start button malfunction and how to fix it?

I am I any risk not installing KB5040525 or am I missing important Windows features?

    -thanks
