Windows 10: After upgrading to 24H2, every first boot hangs but then the second boot works fine

This computer ran Windows 11 23H2 without any issues. I then upgraded it to 24H2. Now I observe this behavior:- You power the machine on. You see the four blue squares and the spinning circle below it. After a few seconds the circle disappears. The four blue squares remain there. Nothing further happens; the computer remains like that. The USB keyboard does not light up, you cannot turn on numlock or press control alt del. You eventually press the computer power button which with one single press turns the computer off. Normally a long press is required to restart the computer.- You press the

Fedora hanging at boot

I installed Fedora on my work laptop because I'm thinking about switching from W7 to it - but I'm having an issue. I booted it a few times, got some stuff installed, all was 'good'...but I went to boot it and it hangs at the F. Through a bit of troubleshooting I saw that it appears to be hanging at ip6tables - however I cannot get it to stop. A mention was to try going and disabling it through the chkconfig but that didn't work. I could only find one thing that was ip6tables, and that was in usr/sbin and didn't let me do anything with it.

Hang while loading taskbar at boot

Before blaming it on a system service, I would definitely disable your startup apps. 99% of all 'hanging at your desktop during boot' problems are related to apps that load with Windows. The other 1% either being system services, corrupt files, viruses or a mixture of the three.

Start -> Run -> type MSCONFIG. Under 'Startup Selection', click "Diagnostic Startup", Apply & then OK. Reboot. If the problem stops, there is something loading at Windows boot that is causing this. If it still continues, it may be a system service as you said.

To check for system service errors (and their causes), right click "My Computer" -> Manage -> Event Viewer -> System. Look for any Errors (noted by a big red X). You can check the causes of the errors by right clicking on each one and selecting Properties. Note the error code that it lists and either post it here or Google for it. But make sure that the time code on the error matches the exact time that you are seeing these hangs during boot.
