Viewing the Administrative Events in Event Viewer displays errors on these log files. Trying to save the Administration Events to a .evtx event file gets error 4201 The instance name passed was not recognized as valid by a WMI data provider. I get the same errors on a second laptop I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I see these errors if I try to view the log files in Event Viewer and I cannot enable or clear them either. The three log files are;Intel-SST-BUS/DebugIntel-SST-CFD-HDA/IntelSSTMicrosoft-Windows-USBVideo/AnalyticHas anyone else run across this issue?

    Error in Event Viewer

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

As you have mentioned, you have performed a repair installation on the computer and you see Event 508, 510 and 533 in Event Viewer.

I would like to inform that if you see any critical error in Event Viewer, please share the event logs with us to help you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps. Please follow the steps mentioned below to share the event logs:

    1. Press Windows + X from the keyboard, select
      Event Viewer.
    2. Expand Windows Logs from the left pane and select
      Applications.
    3. Click Filter Current Log from extreme right pane. Then in the new windows check the box beside
      Error and click OK.
    4. Now, look for a critical Error in the list and note down the message/information from the
General Tab in the lower section.

Please reply with the status of the issue, we will be glad to help you further.

    Regards,

    EVENT VIEWER ERRORS

I have a massive list of errors on the Event Viewer Log particularly but not only under Administrative Events. Errors are categorized under DistributedCOM , AppModel-Runtime and/or WindowsUpdateClient amongst others. Will someone please tell me what
I can do to rectify these. As far as I can tell, these errors first appeared on the Event Viewer Log in October 2015 when my 8.1 machine was upgraded to Windows10 and they are llisted on the log since then. I am very worried about this.

    Hide specific Event Viewer error

    Hi,

Somehow, we changed the User Interface of Windows 10. We set Windows 10 not to hide a specific error in the Event Log. This is done in order to prevent incorrect logging of important errors.

For now, kindly disregard the normal errors which appears in the Event Viewer.

Also, if you have a suggestion regarding the log on the Event Viewer, we encourage sending it to the Feedback hub. To do so, kindly follow these steps:

    1. On a Windows 10 device, search for “Feedback Hub” in Cortana search, then launch the app.

    2. Navigate to Feedback in the left menu, then press + Add new feedback.

    3. Select the Problem, and share any details you think are relevant, and choose an appropriate category and subcategory.

    4. Important: If possible, reproduce the problem(s) after clicking Begin monitoring (or Start capture) near the end of the form; Stop monitoring when you’re done.

    5. Once you’ve completed the form and monitoring, click Submit.

    6. Click Continue using Feedback Hub.

    7. Click My feedback at the top, then find the item you submitted (it may take a while to appear).

    8. Open the item you submitted, then click Share.

    9. Click Copy link, then paste the link here in your response (it will look like <Redirection Tools link>)

If you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Regards.
