  1. After Win 10 Creative Upgrade, Firewall Blocks Network Sharing

I am running Win 10 Pro v1703 (bld 15063.332). We have 2 PCs on our home network and after the Creative upgrade, sharing between PCs broke. After all the usual attempts to fix it since I can ping both system from each (such as DNS issues, networking issues, permissions issues, File Sharing permissions issues, discovery issues, turning off password requirements, etc), and then trying pretty much every document on the web pertaining to "Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found" (This occurs now when trying to browse to previously shared folders), I finally uninstalled all third-party antivirus and system utilities and then when that didn't work, I disabled firewall. On both machines. Though a Homegroup is still unable to be seen from either machine once created, I am now asked for login and can browse our shares and Public folders freely. However, as soon as I enable the Firewall on one machine, it is no longer reachable from the other. I have duplicated this over and over; no joy if Firewall for Private Networks is enabled. I have checked and double-checked all of the Inbound Rules and Exceptions -- even disabling and reenabling all of them just in case some setting wasn't writing itself properly to the OS. Still no luck. So, anyway, to make a long story short, I would like to get my network sharing back online with Firewall running and get the Homegroup to work again.

Please help if you can. Thank you!

    :)

    What is the SIHClient.exe?

I too discovered this just tonight blocked in Mcafee Total Protection. I found it that the firewall blocked this since after upgrading to win 10, it automatically modified Mcafee's' firewall.

  3. Some applications may crash after installing Windows Update KB3132372

Since installing Update 3133431 the Bitdefender firewall is blocking all internet access unless I disable "Block Internet Connection Sharing".

Is this expected correct functionality? I'm not using Internet Connection Sharing, unless it's being used under the hood for all apps to have internet access. Regardless, this setting to block internet connection sharing has been on since day one.

Is this a Windows 10 bug (seems to be) or a Bitdefender bug (assume not)?

The machine with the problem is a desktop using a hardwired network connection - no wi-fi. I have two other laptops that have not shown this issue, yet. I will report back if they successfully installed these two Win10 Flash Updates and do not have the
same issue with that Bitdefender Firewall setting.

    UPDATE:

One of the laptops that's on wi-fi has indeed picked up both Win updates and is running Bitdefender with "Block ICS" enabled. No internet issues with that machine.

This may be a wired networking issue only.

  5. Yes, resetting all network settings and letting the apps reconfigure what they need worked. I was hesitant at first, but even though I'd looked at all the settings and everything things seemed correct, resetting it all fixed something. Go figure. Just glad it's resolved now. I still cannot get homgroups to work though. But at least now I can just make shares and access files that way. Best of luck!!
