Windows 10: After Windows 10 2004 update Bluetooth devices disconnect and reconnect randomly

Good evening,

Since the Windows 10 2004 update all my Bluetooth devices frequently disconnect and then in a minute or two reconnect.

Bluetooth devices that disconnect / reconnect include but are not limited to:
a 2 different Microsoft Bluetooth mice.
b 2 different Rocketfish Bluetooth keyboards.
c 8 different Bluetooth headsets.


When reviewing the Event Logs, I found 100s of BTHUSB Event ID: 34 and HidBth Event ID: 2 entries.

The disconnects line up with the BTHUSB Event ID: 34 Warning entries

The reconnects line up with the HidBth Event ID: 2 Warning entries


The Bluetooth radio in my computers is a combo Intel Wireless Bluetooth and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC3160.

Computer: HP Envy 17

Windows Version: 10.0.19041 Build 19041


Last Update: 2020-09 KB4571756 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems

I've gone through every entry in the Bluetooth, Network, Mouse, Keyboard, and Human Interface Devices sections in the Device Manager and disabled the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" anywhere and everywhere I found a Power Managment tab.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel drivers for both the Intel Wireless Bluetooth and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC3160 devices.

I've rebooted my computer many times after all of the above.

The problem only started with the application of the Windows 2004 Update.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth devices will not reconnect after paired

After the latest major update to windows 10, my Bluetooth headset and my Bluetooth keyboard, after pairing, will not reconnect after disconnected. These devices have always been able to reconnect for subsequent uses even after original windows 10 install.
After this latest update, they no longer automatically reconnect. They are both listed in the devices list but will not connect. I have to remove and repair every time. Thanks for any help.

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Pair the Bluetooth device to the system.
• Right click on the Speaker icon in the System tray and select
  Playback Devices.
• Select the device and click on the drop down list next to Set default button.
• Select the option to connect and disconnect from the device.

Bluetooth devices disconnects and reconnects windows 10

I've tried the "save power" option as suggested, but with no luck. The bluetooth mouse works on Windows 7 and Windows 8. But I tried on multiple copies of Windows 10 Home edition (64 bit) it'll just disconnected randomly.
