Windows 10: after windows 10 updates Password box locks up cannot enter

After I complete any updates for Windows 10. I attempt to enter password, only to have it get locked out by PW screen turning black. Also another common problem occurs which is the mouse does what it wants. I am running AVG antivirus. All is clear no issues. If I am able to get mouse to windows key to restart. Gives me only outcome desired, but major issue to get that done. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Are you trying to log-in using Microsoft account or local account?
• Are you trying to enter pin or password?

Assuming that this issue might be because of keyboard, I suggest you to use on-screen keyboard from the lock screen and check if it helps.

Steps: From the lock screen, click on Ease of access and click on On-screen keyboard.

Try the following steps and check if it helps:

Step 1:

Try to enter your password and press Enter key from the Keyboard.

If the issue persists then follow the below step.

Step 2:

I suggest you to restart you system and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• Press and hold the Shift key from the Keyboard and click on
  Power button.
• Click on Restart and check if the issue persists.

If the issue persists then follow the below step.

Step 3:

If you have any other user account then, I suggest you to click on your other user account which will be listed at the bottom left corner on the lock screen.

Windows 10 lock screen password

We appreciate the details that you've provided. We suggest that you remove the lock screen password by following the steps below:

• On the Windows search bar, type in Netplwiz and select the top most result.This window gives you access to Windows user accounts and many password controls.
• Right at the top is a checkmark next to the option labeled Users must enter a username and password to use this computer.
  Uncheck that.
• Click Apply and it will prompt you for your current password. Enter it twice. The next time you reboot, or your PC wakes up from a nap, you’ll no longer need to type in your password.
