Windows 10: After Windows 11 Update on 11/15/24 Cannot connect with Google Chromecast

After the big Windows Upate on 11/15/24 my laptop no longer recognizes my Sony Bravia device for casting via Chromecast Built In. Have done every troubleshooting step imaginable with Sony, my ISP Verizon and Google, the consensus is that somehow the update is the culprit. Hope Microsoft is aware and will patch it soon.

Window 11 hotspot for Chromecast

Hi,

In window 10, I can connect the Google chromecast through the mobile hotspot by my iPhone, but I can’t do this in window 11. It seems my iPhone and chromecast can’t communicate together in window 11 hotspot.

Anybody can help?

Then follow Google's instructions. Here's a
QuickStart guide.

Whereas in the past you could setup a Chromecast from a PC, now you'll need the Google Home app.
