Windows 10: After windows 11 upgrade all my photos which is taken before 2012 which is in .jpg is not...

After windows 11 upgrade from windows 10, all my photos which is taken before 2012 which is in .jpg is not opening. I am getting msg like file not supported. Photo Gallery 2012 on Windows 11

Unknowingly, when I downloaded Windows Essential 2012 to my new laptop with using Windows 11 I also downloaded Photo Gallery 2012. AND I had been using Photo Gallery 12 for many years. My use is I take lots photos for my outdoor group - maybe a hundred at a single outting.

Then. when I return home, I download the 100 photos to a file. I then quickly go through the files using Photo Gallery 2012 and delete redundant and duplicate files, fuzzy files, etc. leaving only good jpegs in the file. I then upload "the good jpeg pictures" to my groups web site.

What I found out today, for the first time on this new computer, is that the photos come out visible, but dark. When I use the Photos app to "open with" the pictures are light and beautiful. But using Photos app does not allow me to use the left and right arrows to quickly view a picture.

Has Photo Gallery 2012 been updated for Windows 11`- or is there a free app I can download that allows me to quickly select one photo at a time at full screen and allow me to delete it of I choose, and then return to where I left this selection process to continue my selections.

Upgrading to windows 11

I have a few questions about windows 11...

1. How many GB it is? when my pc suggested the upgrade yesterday, it said it's about 4GB just want to be sure.
   
2. I'm using a windows 10 pro so if I upgrade, will it upgrade to a windows 11 pro?
   

 

How to sort photos in Windows essentials photo gallery.

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to sort your pictures in the way you want them. Kindly take note that the only options to sort your photos in Photo Gallery are the following:

• Date taken
• Date modified
• File size
• Image size
• Rating
• Caption
• File name

Also I suggest follow the below steps.

Press ALT + W + K, one after other & check if the photos are shown in the order they were taken.
