Windows 10: After windows reinstall, my laptop is so messed up

I had to do 2 windows reinstalls after really poor performance. Since then, I can't configure my laptop to perform anywhere near normal. I find when I hook up with ethernet, it runs much better and even after unplugging the ethernet it will run ok for awhile but then back to the errors and pages not loading, can't get to my email. The errors I get most often are, error_connection_reset and we can't connect to your internet. This is getting really frustrating and even affecting my Iphone. I've chatted with microsoft support and they give me the same troubleshooting steps in command prompt which does no good. I've called my internet provider and they referred me to Dell. WTH?? With covid, I don't want to take this anywhere or have anyone come in. I realize this is a poor explanation of the issues but there are so many. I did find a Trojan a few days ago but caught that. My 1st infection since 2014.

What all could be going on? It's either something very simple or extremely complex

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
