Windows 10: After Windows Update Lock Screen Photos Missing

Sorry, I don't have a phrase to describe the photos seen when the Windows 11 screen is locked. Prior to a recent Microsoft Windows update, upon turning my computer on I'd see a scenic photo while the screen is locked. For many years about six years, both Windows 10 and Windows 11 displayed beautiful photos while the screen was locked. Today that's gone after an update. Typical of a Microsoft Windows System. Anyway, if this can be restored that'd feel a bit less dysfunctional.

To change the
lock screen photo, follow these steps:

• 
  Go to
  Settings.
  
• 
  Choose
  Personalization.
  
• 
  On the left side of the screen, click on
  Lock screen.
  
• 
  In the
  Background, change it to
  Picture.

Lock screen picture won't change

Something seems to be preventing you from customizing the lock screen. This may be due to recent changes on the system or some corrupted components. To guide you better in resolving the problem, please answer these questions:

• Are you able to change other Personalization items in
  Settings aside from Lock screen?
• What suggestions have you looked into?

You can also use the Photos app to set a different lock screen image. Follow these steps:

• Double-click on the image file to open it using the Photos app.
• In case a different app is set to open your images by default, right-click on the image instead, choose
  Open with then select Photos.
• Once you have the image open using the Photos app, click on the See more button (
  
  ).
• Choose Set as.
• Select Set as lock screen.

To better assist you with your concern about photos from an app showing on your lock screen, we suggest that you check your lock screen settings with the steps below:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Select Personalization.
• Go to Lock Screen.
• Under Background, check whether Windows Spotlight,
  Pictures, or Slideshow is selected.

If Slideshow is selected, try changing it to either of the two other options.
