Windows 10: After Windows updates, my wifi connection becomes hit-and-miss, or drops completely. This...

I ran the diagnostics within Windows 10. It just told me I had no internet connection, and that it was the router's fault, but it wasn't. Everything else in the house is online, with no problem. Two phones, an Ipad, 2 smart TVsethernet, & Xbox Oneethernet, and they all are constantly connected to the router. No problem with anything, except my updated PC. I bought a new USB wifi adapter. That didn't fix it, permanently. Just for a few days, and then Windows 10 updated again. Now, the same problem. While the internet is currently connected, now, yesterday it dropped for no reason and was unable to recognize the internet connection for several hours. I left it alone. Went to bed. Woke up this morning, and it's connected again. I'd just like to know why that happens, and if it happens continually, I will bite the bullet, pay the extra money, and switch to a Mac.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?


OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?

 

Windows 10 dropping wifi connection

My laptop keeps dropping the wifi connection. It then says it can't find any wifi networks. Eventually it connects again for 5-10 minutes before it drops again. None of my other devices have any problems with the wifi network. I have followed all the steps
here repeatedly and nothing has made any difference:
