Windows 10: Age of Mythology saving hang and double sound glitch. how to fix please.

so I got my Age of Mythology (disc version) running. got it in fullscreen. got it in high graphics was able to fix the water and fog of war rendering.


But now I just got to fix 2 things.


1. there is a forever hang whenever I save a game. currently I heard that by moving my saving folder to where my game is. It will save faster. but when I tried that. (my AoM filepath already has a savegame folder.) I move it from C:\Users\Aragon\Documents\My Games\Age of Mythology and move it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology.


But it just ends up making a new folder back in documents when I try to save.

a quick fix is to Alt+Tab out and back in. But it is so slow. and playing on Titan difficulty I want to be able to save and load quickly.


the second problem is when I have a group of units selected and tell them to move by right clicking or attack. they will overlap with their voices.

example move 2 Hoplite they will both say their lines when moved. sometimes different sometimes as an echo.

other times if example I move 15 hoplite. 3 Hydras and 5 minotaurs. all the units will say something. followed by a slight buzzing noise.


I am probably gonna have to mod the files to get them to work.

I have 7zip and Notepad++ so If I can use this to make it work better then please tell me.


I don't really want to download a patch and such. unless it's from nexusmods or something.

Age of Mythology won't work

I have gone through the game on the website. So, I suspect the issue you are facing could be because the game is not compatible with Windows 10. However, you can try running the game in compatibility mode. I suggest you to go to the article and try

You may also try installing the game in the compatibility mode. Follow the below steps to install the game in the compatibility mode.

1. Right-click on the game setup file and click on ‘Properties’'.

restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Age of mythology

When i start game Age of mythology in Windows 10, i have got problem with 3D view, probably 3D engine. How can i solve this problem , when the screen of game is divided to some other colors, lines etc.
