Windows 10: airplane mode greyed out

last night i went to sleep with my laptop still turned on wifi etc and it kinda shut down because i didn't plug in charger and when i wake up to open it i realize the airplane mode is turned on i've tried plugging my wifi adapter in and out. the wifi option is available but when i click on it, it instantly goes back to airplane mode. also i couldn't find airplane mode in the human interface driver i'm confuse whether it's my wifi adapter fault because the led on the adapter blink when i clicked wifi but it turn back off because the airplane mode is still on. i don't know if the adapter is brok

Have tried option 4 to turn off airplane mode. Initially it looks as if it has worked, but then it goes back to greyed out.

Using it to turn on the airplane mode works, but then you don't have an option to switch it off.

Any other suggestions ?
