Windows 10: Airplane Mode is on and button is gray. Clicking on button does not work

My laptop has Windows 10. I have Microsoft 365 installed. I have no internet connection. The laptop shows that it is on Airplane Mode which I did not set. The button is gray and does not react when I click on it to turn off airplane mode. HELP

How to DISABLE the Airplane Mode Button

The solution needs to be a registry tweak, as I do not want to access each computer individually.

Unable to turn airplane mode off

Our HP Laptop model#C2N76UA#ABA. Did a windows 10 update and now the wireless does not work. I am able to plug in an Ethernet cable and can surf the web, but no wireless. It seems as if it is in air plane mode all the time. If I place the pointer over
the network icon in the lower right of the screen it says: Not connected - Wireless communications turned off. If I click on the icon airplane mode button shows up, but is grayed out and clicking it does nothing. I have also tried the press Fn + prt sc button,
which does nothing. If I push the wifi button (f12) in the upper left of the screen it does show airplane mode on and airplane mode off when I press it, but the orange light on the button never changes to white and the wifi never starts to work. If I click
on the notice icon on the right lower all the buttons come out from the right and airplane mode button is grayed out there also, but when I click it nothing happens. If I watch that button while I press the wifi button, it will change on the airplane mode
button from on to off, but after 1 sec. it changes to an airplane icon..... I have also downloaded several drivers from hp support center, but after installing them they never show up on the list in device manager..... Any help would be great!!!

Let us try few of the below troubleshooting steps to disable Airplane mode and check if it helps.

Step 1: To turn off Airplane mode from Settings and check.

• Press Windows key, click on Settings
  from the left pane.
• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Airplane mode turn it off and check.

Step 2: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Network Notification Area Icon

  Click on the Network icon in the taskbar notification area.
  
• 
  Click on the Airplane mode button to toggle on or off.
  

Step 3: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Action Center

• 
  Open Action Center by clicking Windows + A keys from keyboard.

  Click on the Airplane mode quick action button to toggle on or off.
  

If the settings are not refining, this issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files.

Step 4: I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a
Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
