Windows 10: Airplane mode key no longer works after update!

Just got the 1803 update. Now my F12/Airplane Mode key no longer works. I can toggle the mode by clicking on the wifi icon, but I need a quicker way to do this. I've tried uninstalling the updates that Windows will allow me to do, but to no avail. I've noticed a lot of people have experienced the inability to get out of Airplane mode after an update, but nothing about my issue. I did update my wifi driver - still nothing.


Every time I get a Windows update, something no longer works! I marvel at the creativity of the development team, but in the end, I just want things to stay the same, or get better, not worse.

Step 1: To turn off Airplane mode from Settings and check.

• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Airplane mode turn it off and check.

Step 2: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Network Notification Area Icon

  Click on the Network icon in the taskbar notification area.

  Click on the Airplane mode button to toggle on or off.
  

Step 3: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Action Center

• 
  Open Action Center by clicking Windows + A keys from keyboard.

  Click on the Airplane mode quick action button to toggle on or off.
  

If the settings are not refining, this issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files.

Step 4: I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a
Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

airplane mode

When using the internet, it switches to airplane mode, I can go to control panel and switch it to off and

it will work for a while. I have tried all of the suggestions posted and nothing works. Last post suggested

pushing key to the right of f12....it only turns off airplane mode and then it turns back on. I have all

of microsofts updates...the last suggestion to create a new user acct. Do you have any other suggestions

that have worked?
